Easter Celebration (Recap)

Last Wednesday CF meeting, we had out Easter Celebration. A group of people have done a very meaningful sketch during the Easter Celebration. A simple synopsis......

Synopsis

It has been 2 years since the outbreak of VirusX in Kampung Apo. Every man, woman and child has been infected and many have died since then. Scores of doctors have come and gone but none seem to know what the cause of this mysterious disease is. The villagers put their hope in Ms. Ma, the head of the biggest pharmaceutical company in the land, who promises them an antidote that will cure this virus and give them back their lives. But hope seems lost as the years go by, until a stranger comes into the village offering them the antidote for free.

1. Sickness – SIN
~
EVERYONE has it! Only God is sinless. [The WHOLE village was infected by the virus.]

2. Antidote – SALVATION
~
It takes the life of a sinless man to redeem all the sins of the world. God sent His Son, Jesus to earth as a man. He died on the cross as a guilty sinner in our place. The price He had to pay to free us from eternal suffering was to sacrifice His own life, which was blameless. IF the story had ended there, Jesus would continue to bear sin’s penalty of death. He would REMAIN guilty. [Luke would have been proven WRONG if he did not wake up and prove that his antidote really worked.]
~
The resurrection is God’s reversal of this verdict. He releases Jesus from sin’s guilt and penalty. God raised Jesus to restore Him to His righteous standing. The resurrection declares that Jesus is now RIGHT with God, and so are we who place our faith in Him. We sinners need the righteousness of Christ. We receive this righteousness through believing the cross and resurrection.

3. Villagers – SINNERS
~
Are we going to choose the antidote that is FREE and available to ALL
OR
are we going to hold on to the promises of the world?
[The villagers trusted in Ms. Ma because she promised them that she WILL find the cure.]

The world can promise us anything,
but God promises us SOMETHING;
eternal life.

[All the while, Ms. Ma offered only medicine that could take away their suffering temporarily and promised to find a cure. But Luke offered a cure!]

THE BIG QUESTION IS:

ARE YOU GOING TO JUST LIVE YOUR LIFE LIMITED BY WHAT THE WORLD CAN OFFER
OR
ARE YOU WILLING TO ACCEPT THIS ANTIDOTE THAT OFFERS YOU
MORE THAN ALL THAT THE WORLD CAN OFFER AND MORE?
