Bible Study with the Alphas

It is a holiday for the degree folks, how are u guys enjoying?
Do have fun spending quality time with your family and friends back home.
As for the alphas, we are still having the term on..sobs.
But hey, we still have some fun to do back here in Malacca.

Last week: Review of Survivor 4.o: Time Management

This semester is hectic for all of us and so out of our control.
Minutes spent would not come back again in the future.
Yes, we can't control how many hours there is in a day.
Therefore, its our choice: To waste it? Use it? or Invest it?
Brother Fook Meng gave us insights on how we can maximize our time wisely



1) Determine what gives you the greatest returns out of your time
Ask: "What is the most valuable use of my time right now?"

2) Know that today matters
Psalm 90:12 says Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

Practical tips to maximize each day
1) Start with your Top Task
2) Identify the "Best Time" for your top task
3) Identify the "Best Surrounding" for top task
4) Plan your day (Get a diary and plan ahead
5) Be sure to have time to sleep and eat properly
6) Be aware of time thieves (Facebook, Dota, etc)
7) Make room for wholesome education


3) Be courageous to make the necessary changes

Malacca Camp 2009



This year's camp was held in Broga in OUTBAC Camp which is 2 hours+ drive away from our campus. The seniors came to visit us on the 2nd day of camp. Thanks! We enjoyed your presence!



Anyway, OUTBAC stands for Outdoors @ Broga Adventure Camp which is located near Semenyih. A group of 45+ of us went and had a great time from the 20th till 31st August! We even sang Negaraku!

Day 1

When we reached there, we had briefing and we settled down.
At 1530, we had ice breaking and were divided into 6 groups:
Samaria . Jericho . Jerusalem . Nazareth . Bethlehem . Damascus

Our 1st workshop at night was conducted by Mark from FES. We did a team building workshop where we have to transport our team to another locations. Easy?
The tough part was, everyone in the group are disable in some ways.
Some would be blind, mute, hands disabled and leg disable. Some even both!

Day 2


Oh..the committees find it hard to wake everyone up for exercise

We did some stretching and star jumps *yooouch!*



Later on, we had our 2nd workshop in the afternoon.

This workshop talks about God's zone. The questions asked was:
What is your comfort zone?
What do you think God's zone are?


Hmm..* Thinking*



This is day 3 thought. Sidetrack.



Back to day 2. We have games after that. We did some station games. Got tepung game, shampoo game, piring game, air game, balloon game...FUN!





After the station games, we are able to play the flying fox, abseiling, rock climbing, kayaking and basketball.





All the food was totally yummylicious...too yummy that bigger flies came by!

Day 3

We have sharing. I forgotten to mention we played the "Angel" game from the start of our camp. So we revealed to each other whom we took care of throughout the camp.


Definately a great time of bonding and learning. Though its only 24/2 of the time we spent together, feels like 24/7 of awesome fellowship!



God's Zone: Where are we comfortable?

Movie Night Review

2 weeks ago, the room in FSER0012 went dark..and Fireproof was screened.



Sypnosis of the story :

Lt. Caleb Holt lives by the old firefighter's adage: Never leave your partner behind. Inside burning buildings, it's his natural instinct. In the cooling embers of his marriage, it's another story.After a decade of marriage, Caleb and Catherine Holt have drifted so far apart that they are ready to move on without each other. Yet as they prepare to enter divorce proceedings, Caleb's dad asks his son to try an experiment: The Love Dare.While hoping The Love Dare has nothing to do with his parents' newfound faith, Caleb commits to the challenge. But can he attempt to love his wife while avoiding God's love for him? Will he be able to demonstrate love over and over again to a person that's no longer receptive to his love? Or is this just another marriage destined to go up in smoke?


It was a great movie that we all can learn from between laughter and sobs:

1. Eventhough we are so stubborn and constantly rejecting God, He never forsakes us.
He will be the one who will always be there for us no matter what happens.
He will be the one that will see us till the very end.
Eventhough we do horrible thing to Him and rejecting His love, yet, He still loves us.


2. The triangle thingy: Pictures Below

When human solve their relationship problem by their own way, eventually they will move further form each other...



As a result, their distance between each other will be wider and wider.



However, if the solve it through God's way, focusing on God and build a relationship with God first...[arrow upwards]



...the gap between them will be smaller and as a result they will move nearer to each other.


3. Luke 10:27
He answered: " Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, 'Love your neighbour as yourself.'

In order to love others, you must first love yourself.
In order to love yourself, you must first love God,
Cause God is the perfect definition of LOVE.


Read up 1 John 4:7-20 as part of your quiet time today. This whole passage talks about loving each other.

God's Mercy




Still remember how many times you fell into sinning?
