AHA..

On the 24th of June, we hiked up Bunga Raya Hill to fellowship with one another and play games!

People were divided into a few groups where each group has to go through game stations throughout the hike. Each group also has to carry candles and ping-pong balls. Throughout the games, some items were used to symbolize some meanings:

-The candle symbolizes our relationship with God.
-Each station has a lighter which represents our daily devotion to keep the the fire burning. -The ping-pong balls represent the word of God. Sometimes we tend to forget His word (when the ball is taken away).
-The time spent on top of the hill is to show how sensitive we are to our surroundings. (In our case: our friends)

So, keep the fire burning for Him and may we set other hearts on fire too. :)

By the way, AHA = Anastasia, Hui Juan, and Albert. Lame right?? Sorry for the lameness. Haha.. See you next week! ;p

Last Tuesday...

Last CF meeting (17 June 2008, Tuesday) was the first CF meeting of the new academic year. It was the introduction to the theme and vision for the CF for the academic year of 2008/2009.

Theme : ECG
Vision : To fulfill the Everlasting Commission of God till He comes again.

Throughout this year, we would like to have the desire and the urgency to reach out to people, especially those in our campus, and also to have God as our shepherd and mentor in all we do.

Our sermon focus for the year, will come from Matthew 5 - 7. Pastor Tan gave us an in depth detail of the background of this passage, more commonly known as the Sermon on the Mount. He shared that this passage points us to who Jesus is, and he also gave us a brief run through of the contents of these 3 chapters. Finally, Pastor Tan concluded with some pointers regarding the application of this passage to us today. As he said, we hope that by the end of our study of this passage, we will be the people God wants us to be, living the life He wants us to live.
